Dr. Uladzimir Kananovich is a historian of late medieval and early modern Europe. He holds doctoral degree in History from the Institute of History of Belarusian Academy of Sciences and M. A. degree in Medieval Studies from Central European University. He has taught at higher educational establishments in Belarus, as well as in the USA (Trinity College, Hartford).
Dr. Kananovich’s research interests range from warfare and chivalry to history of memory and emotions. His first book “The Knight at the Battlefield” has just come out. He has been working now on his English-language monograph “Remaking Local Heroes. Memories at Clash in the Late Medieval Grand Duchy of Lithuania”.
