A former member of a number of editorial boards of Polish and international journals, e.g. Contemporary Sociology, Higher Education, European Journal Vocational Training, and Res Publica. A former editor-in-chief of a semi-annual journal Nauka i Szkolnictwo Wyższe. A former member of the University of Warsaw Senate for three terms of office.

A member of the Supervisory Board of Res Publica Nowa and of the presidium of the PAN Science of Science Committee.

An author of two books and over 100 other publications, including many in English; principal investigator in research projects part-financed by the World Bank and the OECD.
