The «Artes Liberales» Institute Foundation
was established in 1997 by academics linked to OBTA.
Its main goal is to promote and support educational projects addressed
to students and young scholars in Poland and East-Central Europe, aimed
at eliminating the barriers between various academic disciplines within
the humanities and social sciences.

new educational methods in disciplines from the "non-applied humanities"

Dissemination and popularization of
the cultural output and tradition of nations that lived in regions surrounding
the Mediterranean

Providing supplementary funding for
research-and-development and educational units, those of the University
of Warsaw in particular, whose activity involves disciplines from the "non-applied
humanities"

Supporting the exchange of professional
or academic experiences in disciplines related to the foundation's goals

Individual Studies in the Humanities (MISH)
of the University of Warsaw and the Artes Liberales Academy (Inter-University
Individual Studies in the Humanities)

Co-organizes the East-Central European
School in the Humanities (MSH)

Assists in organizing the Hellenic
Studies at the University of Warsaw

Co-organizes the University of Warsaw's
Educational Laboratory - the Center for Studies on the Classical Tradition
in Poland and East-Central Europe (OBTA)
and the University's Interdepartmental Individual Studies in the Humanities
(MISH)

Implements the international Higher
Education Support Program (HESP) in
Poland

Implements the Prometheus
Program

could begin its activity thanks to a three-year grant provided by the Christian
A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation.
